Managing Performance
What is Managing Performance?
Managing Performance is about ensuring that your people are clear about what is expected of them, and that they are recognised for good performance and challenged for poor performance.
How does this benefit your business?
All businesses need good people who understand where they fit in the big picture. People need feedback to know when something has gone well and when something could have gone better in order to improve in future. Unless you measure individual performance you cannot be sure if they are achieving the goals you set and therefore if you are achieving your strategic goals.
What does the Programme provide?
The Improvement Programme looks at how to understand, define and measure performance as part of your strategy for relevant, successful and cost-effective operations.
How does it work?
The Managing Performance practice is delivered using three key convenient tools:
One-to-one support
An advisor, with expertise in your industry, will get to know you and the people in your business personally to look at the skills and behaviours managers need to measure, demonstrate and support successful performance.
Throughout The Improvement Programme you can arrange up to four visits from your advisor at times that suit you. You can discuss your challenges, ask advice and form your plan in confidence with consistent professional support.
The Managing Performance workshop
A one-day workshop is also provided to demonstrate:
| How to ensure performance is being managed. | |
| How to give constructive feedback and recognition. |
It also helps you to:
| Understand how to build processes that motivate and get results. | |
| Have practical ideas for involving people to gain their commitment. |
The workshops are successful because they let you switch off from your business so you can think openly, creatively, and strategically about your business. You can network and 'compare notes' with other businesses in your region, which can give you an extra level of peer support.
Online support
You're busy, and we understand that, so we've developed an interactive resource as part of the Programme to provide unlimited access to information, advice and support. Please visit IIP Interactive.
