30/11/2007 : Central Scotland Forest Trust become the first Scottish organisation to achieve IIP Champion status

Shotts based charity Central Scotland Forest Trust (CSFT) has become the first Scottish company to achieve IIP Champion Status.

Simon Rennie, Chief Executive of CSFT, said: "CSFT is delighted to be the first Scottish Organisation ever to be recognised with this award from Investors in People. Only a handful of companies in the UK receive this prestigious award, so the recognition is not just a cause for celebration for CSFT but for Scotland too."

"The Improvement Programme" provides a straightforward framework for delivering business improvement through people. It has been specifically for small to medium sized business and is flexible enough to apply to any nature of organisation.

The second series of Investors in People Scotland's successful Development Workshop programme has recently been launched and will run from November 2007 through to June 2008. The programme has been designed following a comprehensive review of the first series and is aimed at developing knowledge and understanding of best practice.

23/01/2007 : First Investors in People status for Tesco group achieved in Scotland

Tesco’s national customer care centre, based in Dundee, has achieved Investors in People status, becoming the first part of Tesco Plc to successfully gain recognition.

Representatives from Tesco, including training manager Nicki Gautier Hughes and Ian Naylor, head of customer service picked up their award from Philip Williamson, chairman of Investors in People UK and Peter Russian, chief executive of Investors in People Scotland at a ceremony in Dundee on 23 January 2007.

The Planning and Environment Services Directorate at Dumfries and Galloway Council, has achieved Investors in People status and are being presented with the prestigious business accolade by Bernard Cruickshanks of Investors in People Scotland, who will hand over the plaque to the Chairman and the Corporate Director of Planning and Environment Services.
