What is Investors in People?
Investors in People is about continuous business improvement and helping your organisation, whatever the size of your business, meet your objectives by working with a flexible framework of good practice based on three simple principles: Planning, Doing and Reviewing.
The framework is made up of four levels, each with ten indicators of good practice. To become an accredited Investor in People and achieve "Investors in People recognition", an organisation has to demonstrate that they are fulfilling the requirements of level one, known as the Standard.
When you start working with Investors in People, indicators from levels two, three and four can provide further areas of stretch to help drive continuous improvement based on your business priorities and where you want to take your business.
The process of demonstrating that your organisation meets the agreed indicators is known as an Investors in People assessment. The underlying benefit of an assessment is that an expert from outside your organisation will give you an unbiased view of what you are doing well and what development may be required to get your business where you want to be.
More information on the assessment process and what you can expect can be found in The Assessment Package.
