Developing People
What is developing people?
Developing People does exactly that; it focuses on how you currently progress your people and allows you to review the process so that you can identify appropriate ways of aligning this to your business aims and aspirations.
How does this benefit your business?
A skilled workforce that understands your business vision and objectives can help you achieve them. Their development should be part of the drive forward to improve all aspects of the business.
What does the Programme provide?
The Improvement Programme provides a structured framework to look at the steps your business can take to develop your people and link their development to your business plan and long term strategy.
How does it work?
The Developing People management practice is delivered using three key convenient tools:
One-to-one support
An advisor, with expertise in your industry, will get to know you and the people in your business personally to consider how developing your people will strengthen the contribution they make to your business.
Throughout The Improvement Programme you can arrange up to four visits from your advisor at times that suit you. You can discuss your challenges, ask advice and form your plan in confidence with consistent professional support.
The Developing People workshop
A one-day workshop is also provided to demonstrate:
| How to create robust processes for Developing People. | |
| How to link your development plan to your business plan. |
It also helps you to:
| Understand how critical the role of manager is in the success of people development. | |
| Have ideas for involving people at all stages of the process. |
The workshops are successful because they let you switch off from your business so you can think openly, creatively, and strategically about your business. You can network and 'compare notes' with other businesses in your region, which can give you an extra level of peer support.
Online support
You're busy, and we understand that, so we've developed an interactive resource as part of The Improvement Programme to provide unlimited access to information, advice and support. Please visit IIP Interactive.
